The new passenger terminal at Balmaceda Airport has entered service in Chile’s Aysén region, after completing its trial run.
The 12,391-square-metre building has five jet bridges, six aircraft stands, new car parks and approach systems that help reduce cancellations caused by bad weather.
With capacity for more than one million passengers a year and international status, the investment of over $50 million is expected to improve connectivity, tourism and the travel experience in southern Chile.
