Intuitivo, a University of Porto spin-off incubated at the UPTEC science and technology park, has raised €1.35 million in an investment round led by Caixa Capital and the Impact Innovation Fund. The company was founded in 2021 by João Guimarães, Duarte Oliveira and Diogo Silva.
The platform lets teachers, from primary school to university, create, give and mark digital tests and send feedback to students. It supports questions with audio, video, music notation and formulas, and has an artificial intelligence feature that drafts tests by topic, year and difficulty and turns old PDF tests into interactive, automatically marked versions.
In Portugal, Intuitivo already reaches more than 500 schools and 75,000 registered teachers. In the 2025/26 school year, students completed about one million assessments on the platform, saving teachers roughly 165,000 hours of work.
With the new investment, the company will expand to Brazil, a market of about 2.2 million teachers, nearly 12 times the size of Portugal’s. It already has a team there and expects to almost double its staff by the end of the year.
