More than 2,500 pupils from Bucharest, Buzău and Galați visited the University of Bucharest’s ‘Dimitrie Brandza’ Botanical Garden from 19 to 23 October as part of the ‘Săptămâna verde’ (Green Week) school programme.

Activities included guided tours, free thematic workshops and greenhouse visits. On 21 October, students from the George Enescu National Music College sang classical music in the greenhouse’s cactus section, at the initiative of teacher Raluca Neagu.

On 22 October, Professor Paulina Anastasiu led workshops on Romania’s rare flora and invasive plants. On the last day, more than 300 pupils closed the school visits.
