The University of the West Indies (UWI) St. Augustine Campus in Trinidad and Tobago held an orientation for incoming students with disabilities, organised by the Division of Student Services and Development.

The session introduced the services available, including exam accommodations, assistive technology, support groups and communication with faculties. Acting Director Kristy Mannette-Smith said the aim is for these students to have the full university experience.

Current students Andreas Racha and Abigail Lakhan described how the unit supporting differently abled students helped their academic progress and confidence, and Racha highlighted the job opportunities it opened for him.
