The University of Bahrain held the sixth edition of its annual blood donation campaign on 27 October at its Sakhir campus, in cooperation with the country’s Central Blood Bank.
Academic staff, administrative staff and students turned out in large numbers: more than 106 people registered in the first two hours and, after medical screening, 60 units of blood were collected.
The campaign was organised by the university’s Health Services Department, with areas for registration, vital-sign checks, donation and rest. The university said holding the campaign for a sixth consecutive year helps keep hospitals’ blood reserves stocked.
