Fiji National University (FNU) held One Health Day in Suva, bringing together more than 100 participants from human, animal, plant and environmental health sectors under the theme “One Health in Action: Working Together for a Healthier Future”.

Two panels discussed how to bridge gaps between human health, animal health, the environment and policy, and examined zoonoses and antimicrobial resistance.

Chief guest Dr Tekini Nakidakida of the Ministry of Agriculture called for responsible antibiotic use, stronger disease surveillance, better early warning systems and investment in research and education.
