Anna Kukova, a 2026 graduate of the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG), presented a paper on artificial intelligence and brain tumour detection at an international engineering conference held from 15 to 17 October in Bali, Indonesia, and online.

The paper, co-authored with Computer Science Professor Narasimha Rao Vajjhala and based on her senior thesis, compares two types of neural networks for classifying brain MRI images.

The research contributes to discussions on the use of AI in medical diagnostics, and the paper is expected to be published in an international scientific database in the coming months.
