The Health Centre at Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) in Maputo held a health fair on 30 October focused on preventing and detecting breast and cervical cancer early, as part of Pink October.
The fair included breast and cervical cancer screening, blood pressure and blood glucose checks, HIV testing, blood donation, a talk about cancer and first aid demonstrations.
Health Centre director Professor Eunice Jethá said prevention should continue all year round and highlighted the role of men, who can also develop breast cancer and are important in supporting women.
