The AIST 2026 conference took place from 16 to 18 October at Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan, bringing together more than 130 participants from institutions in at least 25 countries. Organised by the School of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, the conference has been held since 2012.
The programme included more than 50 presentations, several on Kazakhstan and regional languages, including Russian–Kazakh machine translation and detecting AI-generated reviews in Kazakh. Other studies covered satellite-based land-cover classification.
Assistant Professor Rustem Tahanov said the conference puts research and researchers at the centre. The papers are planned for Springer proceedings.
