A Yerevan State University delegation from Armenia visited NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in California, accompanied by alumnus Lermont Khachikyan, the laboratory’s Contract Technical Manager.

JPL works on missions such as the Perseverance rover, studying Mars’ Jezero Crater since 2021, the Europa Clipper probe, Voyager 1, which entered interstellar space in 2012, and the NISAR satellite monitoring Earth’s surface.

The visit advanced plans for a 10-week summer training programme at JPL for the university’s students, with the first participant hoped for in summer 2027.
