On 14 October the European Investment Bank (EIB) and BCC Banca Iccrea, parent of Italy’s BCC Iccrea cooperative banking group, signed an agreement making €125 million in new financing available to businesses that are customers of the group’s banks.

At least 25% of the total, €31.25 million, will go to projects in agriculture and the bioeconomy, sectors seen as strategic for sustainable development and local economies.

Seventy per cent of the financing is reserved for small and medium-sized enterprises with fewer than 250 employees, to support their investment and growth.
