The Scottish Government announced £500,000 on 21 October for a programme of trade missions to help Scottish companies export more and build international partnerships. The announcement was made at the Scotland-India Business Forum in Delhi.

The missions will be led by the Scottish Chambers of Commerce across several markets, including India. Four priority sectors were named: energy, life sciences, technology and digital services, and food and drink.

According to the government, two-way trade between Scotland and India in these four sectors is worth about £2 billion a year and could reach £3.2 billion by 2030. The Chambers plan to return to India in early 2027 with a multi-sector delegation.
