Daniil Medvedev won the Hangzhou tennis tournament in China, defeating compatriot Andrey Rublev 7-5, 6-4 in a final between the top two seeds. The match lasted 93 minutes and Medvedev served 23 aces with only two double faults.
It is the Russian’s third title of 2026, after Brisbane and Dubai, and the 24th of his career. With 22 hard-court titles, Medvedev drew level with Michael Chang, Stefan Edberg and John McEnroe in 11th place in the Open Era on this surface.
The former world number one, currently ranked sixth, has 38 wins and 16 defeats this season and leads his head-to-head record with Rublev 8-2. The victory strengthens his bid for the ATP Finals in Turin, which he missed last year for the first time since 2018.
