The President of the Republic of Angola has authorised a public tender for the construction of 100 social housing units in Bengo province, according to an order seen by Novo Jornal.

The homes will be split equally between five municipalities — Barra do Dande, Nambuangongo, Quicunzo, Piri and Úcua — with 20 units in each. The approved expenditure is 4.8 billion kwanzas.

The initiative is part of the Housing Programme of the 2023-2027 National Development Plan, which prioritises the construction of social housing. The governor of Bengo will be responsible for approving the tender documents and signing the contracts.

In August, another tender had already been authorised, for 200 social homes in the municipality of Dande, worth 8.35 billion kwanzas.
