Universidad del Valle de Guatemala (UVG) hosted the 11th Chemistry Congress 2026, organised with the Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Pharmacy of the University of San Carlos and Mariano Gálvez University.

The event brought together students, teachers and researchers from across the country, with a programme on public health, water quality and environmental management.

At the opening, Dean Dr Pamela Pennington said the university aims “to transform lives through science and technology” and encouraged students to keep an open mind to other fields to find more innovative solutions to everyday problems.
