The Institute of Astrobiology at the University of Crete, Greece, hosted the seminar “What Moon Rocks Tell Us About Planetary Evolution”, given by Dr Yash Srivastava, a postdoctoral researcher at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California San Diego.
The talk showed how chemical and isotopic analyses of lunar rocks reveal the Moon’s history and evolution.
It also covered broader processes that shaped rocky planetary bodies, including mantle melting, crust formation and the effects of impacts. The seminar took place on 21 October in the Physics Building, was also streamed online and was open to anyone interested.
