Infraestruturas de Portugal is preparing its first photovoltaic generation unit dedicated to railway operations at the Entroncamento Logistics Complex.

The project, now in procurement with a base price of €10 million, will have 5 MWp of capacity, batteries and estimated annual generation of 8 GWh.

The electricity could cover about 30% of Entroncamento substation consumption. The project starts a programme aiming for 50 MWp of installed solar capacity within four years.
