Scores of secondary school students from across Jamaica attended the annual open house of the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech) on 7 and 8 October at its Papine campus in Kingston.

Under the theme “Unlocking Greatness Through STEM and Beyond”, the event showcased more than 100 programmes and several hands-on demonstrations, such as a small robot used to explain motion, speed and direction.

The aim was to help prospective students make informed decisions by linking their interests and career ambitions to the university’s programmes. Parents and teachers also took part.
