The sports performance lab at Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) in Mozambique has presented the results of two months of scientific assessment and monitoring of the national under-17 football team, known as the Mambinhas.
The work by UEM’s School of Sports Sciences included anthropometric, physical and nutritional assessments, as well as studies of team cohesion and the young players’ competitive ambitions. It was coordinated by Professor Edmundo Cláudio Perez with lecturers and five students.
The data will help plan and improve the team’s preparation for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, held in Qatar from 19 November to 13 December.
