The house at 26 Old Hall Road, Broughton Park, Salford, in north-west England, has been listed at Grade II on the advice of Historic England. The decision was announced on 22 October.

Built in 1935, the house is described as a rare and glamorous survival of the Streamline Moderne style, with curved lines inspired by speed. The architect is not documented, but the most likely candidate is Joseph Sunlight, a Manchester architect and developer.

Inside, it retains a double-height entrance hall with a sweeping staircase and balconied gallery, arched sliding doors, lavish panelling, coved ceilings, parquet floors, coloured geometric glazing and even a butler’s pantry with a service bell board.
