Guinea’s Energy Minister, Laye Sékou Camara, visited the Tombo thermal power plant in Conakry with an Islamic Development Bank delegation.

Talks focused on rehabilitating two older generating units and possible financing for new generation capacity of up to 200 megawatts to meet rising electricity demand.

Cooperation with the bank also covers projects to improve access to electricity and extend distribution networks in several localities in Upper Guinea.
