Four third-year students from the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Nigeria, were the only student team among the finalists at Zecathon 6.0, one of Africa’s most competitive hackathons, and finished fifth, winning 10 million naira.

At the grand finale on 29 October, the team presented Avera, an intelligent system that helps resolve customer disputes and investigate transactions in financial services.

The team is Quadri Lasisi and Sanni Shazily from Data Science, Abdulrahman Raufu from Computer Science and Adam Lawal from Statistics. The same students had previously taken second place at another national hackathon.
