Students from the Faculty of Biology and the Institute of Pharmacy at Yerevan State University in Armenia have completed a 36-hour course on artificial intelligence in biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences.
The course was created and taught free of charge by Romain Topalian, a specialist from Biberach University of Applied Sciences in Germany. Students learned Python, data analysis and machine learning basics, and built models using real drug development and biomedical data.
More than 20 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students registered, and seven passed the final exam. Dean Karen Ghazaryan plans to discuss adding the course as an elective and offering online lectures.
