Argentina’s women’s football team drew 2-2 with Brazil at the Arena Pernambuco in Recife, in the second of two warm-up matches for the 2027 Women’s World Cup, the EFE agency reported.
Brazil scored twice in the first half-hour through Bia Zaneratto and Gio Garbelini, but Argentina hit back: Daiana Falfán pulled one back in the 34th minute and Florencia Bonsegundo equalised from the penalty spot early in the second half, after a foul on Agostina Holzheier.
Argentina played almost the entire second half with ten players and held on thanks to an outstanding performance from goalkeeper Lara Esponda. In the first match, days earlier in Porto Alegre, Brazil had won 3-1.
