Norway has opened a bioprocess laboratory dedicated to turning carbon dioxide into raw material for new products. The SINTEF pilot facility makes it possible to test, at a relevant scale, microorganisms capable of using captured CO₂.

The technology could support the production of chemicals, fuels and plastics with a smaller climate footprint. By bridging laboratory experiments and industrial production, the infrastructure helps companies and researchers accelerate circular economy solutions.
