The Serbian city of Novi Sad hosted the Electroceramics XX conference from 12 to 15 October at the Rectorate of the University of Novi Sad, organised by the university’s Faculty of Technology and the BioSense Institute.
Over four days of presentations, poster sessions and discussions, participants examined how the processing and structure of ceramic materials affect their electrical properties, with a focus on energy harvesting, for example from vibrations.
Work was presented on lead-free piezoelectric ceramics and composite materials for energy applications. A panel with experts from Europe, China and the United States discussed how to move these materials from research into European industry.
