Sultan Qaboos University in Oman has inaugurated the laboratory of its Sustainable Energy Research Centre, covering around 774 square metres, at a ceremony attended by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals and the university’s vice-chancellor.
A three-year agreement was also signed for the second phase of the Kafa’a capacity-building programme with the Oman Net Zero Centre. It will train 275 people in energy auditing and 20 in measurement and verification, and incubate at least three startup teams.
Since 2017, the centre has completed about 61 research projects and trained more than 300 people.
