The Hotel School of the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) marked World Tourism Day under the theme “Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism”, bringing together students, academics and industry partners.

Gerald Cloete, Head of the Department of Hospitality and Tourism, stressed that every local has a role in promoting Namibia’s tourism story. Prof. Simon Chiutsi highlighted social media content creation as a powerful promotional tool and urged that experiences be presented digitally so visitors can picture what to expect.

Activities included a speed networking session, an exhibition with industry partners and a virtual reality experience. The central message was that tourism’s future is digital, yet its heart remains human.
