Etihad Rail officially opened the passenger rail link between Abu Dhabi and Dubai on 30 September 2026, the first between the two emirates. The journey between the capital of the United Arab Emirates and the country’s main tourist hub now takes just over an hour.
Comfort class tickets cost 39 dirhams (around €9.35) and Premium seats 109 dirhams (around €26). In Abu Dhabi, a shuttle service between points in the city centre and the station costs 10 dirhams. In Dubai, the station is at Jumeirah Golf Estates, where passengers can transfer to the metro.
The network began operating at the end of June, between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah, on the east coast. Further openings are planned: Al Dhafra on 30 December and Sharjah on 30 March 2027, while dates for Al Mirfa, Liwa and Al Sila have yet to be announced.
