Yes Friends, a clothing company founded in 2021 in Bristol, in the United Kingdom, wants to prove that clothes made to higher environmental and labour standards can be affordable. It started with a £7.99 T-shirt and today also sells underwear and corduroy jackets.

The brand uses organic, Fairtrade cotton and holds GOTS certification. Through tips at checkout and a living-wage premium, it has already raised more than £56,000 for workers at its supplier factories, confirming that the money reached them with payslips and signed receipts.

In September 2026, founder Sam Mabley appeared on the BBC programme Dragons’ Den, where investor Deborah Meaden put in £20,000 for 2% of the company, double the amount he had asked for.

According to Mabley, it is a myth that ethical clothing has to be expensive, and every brand should follow this path, whatever its price point.
