On 21 October the Board of the African Development Bank Group approved $487 million in financing for Morocco, aimed at economic reforms, climate resilience and more inclusive growth.

Part of the money supports restructuring public enterprises, modernising the public-private partnership framework and improving the business climate, to mobilise more private investment, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises and innovation.

Another part will strengthen the country’s climate and energy resilience through more modern governance of the water and electricity sectors. Since 1978 the Bank has mobilised nearly €15 billion for more than 150 projects in Morocco.
