Brazil’s National Library opened the free exhibition “Entre tempos: 150 anos de um acervo em movimento” on 6 October, celebrating 150 years of its Iconography Division, created in 1876.
The show brings together more than 150 works, including photographs, engravings, artists’ books and originals, some never shown before. It features Giovanni Battista Piranesi, Insley Pacheco, Marc Ferrez, Cildo Meireles, Vik Muniz and Adriana Varejão, pairing the historic collection with visual work from the last 50 years.
The exhibition runs until 4 December, from 10am to 5pm, on the 3rd floor of the National Library in Cinelândia, Rio de Janeiro. Entry is free.
