Coimbra City Council announced on 20 October the completion of the second phase of Quinta das Bicas, in Taveiro, handing over 72 more homes: 36 two-bedroom and 36 three-bedroom flats. They add to the 56 homes delivered in July in the first phase.

In total, 128 of the 268 controlled-cost homes planned for the site have been completed and handed over. They house 128 households, 298 people in all, including 93 students.

The full project includes one- to four-bedroom homes, mostly in apartment buildings plus six semi-detached houses, and is backed by more than €36 million from Portugal’s Recovery and Resilience Plan.
