The LibrasMat project at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) in Brazil will create a free platform of short videos in Libras, Brazilian Sign Language, solving maths questions from the Enem, the national university entrance exam. Portuguese versions will also be provided.

The project, linked to the FAPESP-funded Brazilian Center for Geometry, will also produce a glossary and dictionary of maths signs in Libras, including regional variations. It is coordinated by Professor Marcelo Firer.

It is looking for up to 16 deaf undergraduates in the exact sciences; hearing students fluent in Libras may also be accepted. Those selected receive a research scholarship of R$1,140 a month, training and equipment, and work remotely for up to two years.

Applications close on 7 November, results are published on 1 December and work starts in the second half of January 2027. Four in-person meetings are planned, with lodging and travel paid.
