A Norwegian indoor farming system automates the entire journey of food, from seed to packaging. At the Avisomo facility, studied by SINTEF researchers, robots carry out all the tasks and light, air and water are controlled automatically, making year-round production possible.
The solution aims to reduce dependence on imports and strengthen food security. The facility is already in operation and the first products have reached the shops, showing how automation can support a more resilient food chain.
